“World Speech Day” to launch next week

Next week will be the public launch of a World Speech Day, sponsored by The New York Times and the International New York Times. On March 15, 2016, citizens around the world will be invited to make speeches at special events or on their own. “Everyone has ideas,” writes World Speech Day promoter Simon Gibson. “And everyone can have a voice on World Speech Day. Even if you just make a selfie-speech on your phone and upload it yourself. Just one voice can change everything. Speak out, find an event, join the sound.”
