This little speechwriter wants to change the world

Newish Facebook speechwriter Dex Torricke-Barton was lauded this week in a short profile at the Website AllThingsD.

Writer Mike Isaac credits Torricke-Barton for polishing the notoriously awkward Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who performed well in an important appearance earlier this month at the TechCruch:Distrupt conference.

Torricke-Barton, who previously wrote speeches for the United Nations and served as the personal speechwriter to Google CEO Eric Schmidt, sees his speechwriting job on a grand scale. “My goal,” he says on the LinkedIn profile, “is to support thought leaders on innovation, technology and public policy, and to advance a vision of the world not as it is, but as it should be.”
