Speaking coach Tom Mucciolo found himself speaking to a group of CEOs recently. “One person says to me, ‘Every time I tell a joke nobody laughs. I must have done this a hundred times and I have yet to get a chuckle—any advice?”

“Yes,” Mucciolo said. “Stop telling jokes.”
