When it comes to speaking slots, size doesn’t matter

Don’t dismiss a conference invitation just because the speaking slot is brief.

That’s the gist of some advice that recently came from the conference consultants at Catchpole Corp.

“Conference managers are scheduling multiple brief presentations in the place of a single lengthy keynote or featured presentation,” says Catchpole president Amy Scarlino.

The trend isn’t brand new, she adds, but it’s proliferating.

Here’s her advice: “Just because a featured engagement opportunity lasts a half- hour or less does not mean it should be dismissed out of hand. If other aspects of the engagement are attractive, it could be an ideal opportunity to feature your executive in a uniquely appealing and impactful format.”
