Here in the halls of the Professional Speechwriters Association, we cheer when speechwriters use their credibility โฆ to influence the public debate, as British prime minister David Cameronโs ex-speechwriter Clare Foges attempted to do with a Times of London column urging her old boss to take specific actions to reform his own party. Foges, so closely identified with Cameronโs rhetoric over the last six years that she was widely called โthe Prime Ministerโs Larynx,โ left after Cameronโs reelection a month ago. โDM
