“Prime Minister’s Larynx” talks back

David Cameron's longtime speechwriter quit a month ago, and now she's urging her old boss to reform his party.

Here in the halls of the Professional Speechwriters Association, we cheer when speechwriters use their credibility โ€ฆ to influence the public debate, as British prime minister David Cameronโ€™s ex-speechwriter Clare Foges attempted to do with a Times of London column urging her old boss to take specific actions to reform his own party. Foges, so closely identified with Cameronโ€™s rhetoric over the last six years that she was widely called โ€œthe Prime Ministerโ€™s Larynx,โ€ left after Cameronโ€™s reelection a month ago. โ€”DM
