Pioneering woman speechwriter writes memoir

The first woman speechwriter at G.E. has a book out, Thatโ€™s All She Wrote.

A divorced mother of three in 1973, Joan Aโ€™Hearn was hired to write for various execs at the Schenectady, N.Y. giant.

Alternately accused of trying to sleep her way to the top and losing her femininity, Aโ€™Hearn told the Glens Falls, N.Y. Post Star, โ€œIt wasnโ€™t a very glamorous job, letโ€™s put it that way. It was a lot of traveling, a lot of living out of suitcases. If people thought this was a great job for a woman to have, well, they got the wrong picture.”
