Will Matthew Latimer’s new book be ‘biggest thing’ in the speechwriting world?

I was surprised to hear a speechwriter colleague the other day declare that he thinks Speech-less, the new book by former President Bush speechwriter Matt Latimer, would be “the biggest thing in the speechwriting world for a couple of years.”

But then, I was also surprised to read in the Daily Beast the size of the waves the book has apparently made in the days and weeks and months before its release.

Readers, it’s my experience that these tell-alls come and go because ultimately they’re about office politics and don’t really connect much with issues. My hunch tells me that the excerpts that have already been released have made as big a splash as the book itself will.

The book comes out tomorrow. We’ll know soon enough.
