Former newspaperman Scott Anderson has hired on as a speechwriter for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Former colleague Derek Shelly, now editor of the Kingston Whig Standard, praised Harper’s choice: “Scott’s an unconventional thinker who sees the issues in ways other people often don’t, and he embraces big ideas. He’s interested in everything and his opinions are well-informed and thoughtful. He’s very, very smart and very, very focused.”
Sounds like a speechwriter all right.
