It’s official: Jon Favreau, who has worked for President Obama since he was Senator Obama, is leaving the White House March 1. He may pursue a career in screenwriting, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Favreau, Obama said in a statement, “has become a friend and a collaborator on virtually every major speech I’ve given in the Senate, on the campaign trail and in the White House.”
Favreau will be replaced as chief speechwriter by Cody Keenan, part of Favreau’s original White House writing team. Keenan is taking the lead on the State of the Union Address, according to the L.A. Times.
