Where is exec comms going?
It’s going where we take it—inside our organizations, and out.
After the most tumultuous decade in the history of this burgeoning communication discipline, exec comms professionals are finding their footing, and some of us are gathering to consolidate those gains.
We hope you’ll join us at Leadership Communication Days 2027: a candid and confidential meeting about real life in this difficult and dangerous, consequential and vital work—and a planning session, for a new organization of executive communication professionals.
Here’s what we’ll achieve:
On Day One and the morning of Day Two, in facilitated discussions, you’ll share your best ideas and get help with your toughest problems, from the only other people in the world who have faced them, and solved them: your fellow exec comms pros.
Along the way, we’ll grapple with issues like:
- How to stop the pendulum swinging, between strategically questionable over-sharing and a smothering overcorrection toward “institutional restraint.” What should CEOs and other leaders be talking about, and what should they be saying?
- Proactive exec comms. Let’s stop reeling from one urgent issue to the next and reacting to execs’ communication whims. Let’s think through a strategy, and lay out a plan that gets results for the organization.
- Scope creep: Great exec comms work is rewarded with more demand from more leaders. How to scale your exec comms offerings … or set strategic limits.
- AI: How should we use it, how should we not—and how can we explain our philosophy to the leaders we serve and the colleagues we work with.
What’s on your mind is on our agenda.
On the afternoon of Day Two, we’ll do nothing less than plan the next development in the future of executive communication. This is a facilitated barn-raising discussion with the executive director, the senior advisor and several members of the Executive Communication Council (including our hosts, at APS), about a new organization of executive communication professionals. What do working executive communication professionals need, in terms of professional development, thought leadership, advocacy, networking and career counseling? This group will help chart the course of a new institution that will change the exec comms profession forever.
During two days in this intimate setting among friends—in meetings and over meals and drinks—you’ll have a chance to talk more candidly (and productively) about your professional joys and agonies and hopes and dreams than you ever have before. And you’ll come away feeling more professionally empowered, equipped and supported than you ever thought possible.
Join us.
