A poem for a speechwriter

Australian speechwriter Michael Gurr died. His speechwriting colleague remembered him, with a poem.

Australian Labor Party speechwriter and playwright Michael Gurr died on Tuesday after a short illness, at 55. His political speechwriting colleague Joel Deane remembered him with a poem:

 

Pity the day

that cannot hear,

 

the time

that cannot see,

 

the country that cannot heed

your words.
