Jodie Foster got lots of attention, but the real awards-acceptance-speech story this week was Quvenzhanรฉ Wallis, the nine-year-old star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, who began what is sure to be a persistent trend by reading her speech, not off some raggedy old note cards, but off her pink smartphone.
