Two jobs and a speechwriting internship

eBay and the National Science Foundation need speechwriters, and a speechwriter needs an intern.

eBay in Portland, Ore., is hiring a lead manager of executive communications to support "eBay’s global leadership positioning work and speakers bureau, as well as day-to-day management of eBay’s reputation and thought leadership program.”

The Post Modern Company is looking for a speechwriter to support the director of the National Science Foundation. “The speechwriter will research, develop and write speeches [and other materials] on NSF’s science, engineering and education activities, as well as its policies.” Contract position is in D.C. and pays $50-$60K. Send résumé and three writing samples and three references by Mar. 15 to [email protected].

And our friend Howie Beigelman seeks a speechwriting intern to serve at the public affairs group  he runs—Ohio Jewish Communities. The intern will “help with research (& if graphically talented, some PowerPoints or Handouts) for several speeches he's set to give.” A speechwriter & executive communicator himself, with experience in the political & public affairs space, Beigelman looks forward to mentoring a speechwriter, adding that “if all goes well, there's potential for other writing & comms work: OJC launches a new website shortly, and we are constantly drafting advocacy collateral materials, and hoping to blog more too.” For now, the internship is unpaid, “but that could change down the line,” Beigelman says, adding: “Ohio applicants a plus, but willing to do this remotely too.” Contact [email protected].  Include a résumé and a writing sample.
