Study: Executives are swearing more

Executive expletives in earnings calls have more than doubled since 2011, despite a bull market.

No doubt mistaking vulgarity for authenticity, executives are swearing more these days.

A study of 2017 earnings conference calls found almost 125 instances of executive expletives last year—up from fewer than 100 in 2016 and fewer than 50 in 2011.

And this in a bull market. What will they say at the next recession? —DM
