Standing on the shoulders of … a speech

Justin Trudeau is running to be the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, largely thanks to the name of his father, legendary Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau—and specifically, on the strength of the eulogy the young Trudeau gave for his father in Saint-Remi, Quebec, Sept. 28, 2000.

“He left politics in 84, but he came back” a number of times, Justin Trudeau said near the end of the eulogy. “He came back to remind us of who we are and what we’re all capable of. But he won’t be coming back anymore. It’s all up to us—all of us—now.”
