Nine jobs fit for speechwriters

Companies and colleges from coast to coast are hiring speechwriters.

Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus is looking for an executive communications specialist to handle “overall image management and internal/external communications and marketing activities on behalf of the entire academic medical center.”

IBM in Somers, N.Y. is hiring a strategic and executive communications lead. This person will advance the strategic themes of Global Technology Services  through a variety of executive speeches, presentations and other written materials, including keynote addresses, messaging documents, talking points, video scripts, blog posts, townhall meetings, and other communications to IBMers, clients and external stakeholders.

Arm, Ltd. of San Jose, Calif. wants to hire an executive communications manager to “develop communication strategies and storylines for the CEO and other members of the Leadership team for public, private, and internal keynotes and global events.”

T-Mobile in Bellevue, Wa. is looking for a senior director in communications. This person will lead and support the development of all internal and external communications for T-Mobile’s CEO, with a primary focus on social media strategy and engagement.

Intuit in Mountain View, Calif. is hiring a senior communications manager to “provide expert communications counsel, strategy and support” for the Chief Financial Officer and the Intuit Finance organization.

JPMorgan Chase in Chicago is looking for a communications associate who will be responsible for communications and event support for Consumer & Community Banking executives.

Lexmark International in Lexington, KY seeks an executive communications manager to “proactively develop creative, integrated content for internal and external audiences.”

LRN is looking for a writer-thinker-researcher for thought-leader/CEO Dov Seidman, on the topics of leadership, organizational culture, and values (mainly in a business context). This person will contribute writing and research to articles in NYT, Forbes, WSJ, and work on speeches for venues such as the NFL, Conscious Capitalism, and the World Economic Forum.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting seeks a talented senior vice president who can develop and implement high-level communications and public awareness strategies and marketing and public policy initiatives. Experience with digital media is a strong plus. S/he will oversee the creation of all written collateral, including speeches, op-eds, and marketing materials.
