How to disarm a tense situation with a client

D.C.-based speechwriter Juli Branson went all LBJ on a client who seemed hesitant to give her feedback on a speech.
โDonโt hold back,โ she said. โAs my grandpa used to say, โYouโre payinโ me cash money and I ainโt givinโ it back.โโ
The client pointed to the speech and replied, โI want more stuff like that in here.โ
