Governor’s speechwriting office goes paperless

Paperless speechwriting: They do it in the office of Maryland Governor Martin Oโ€™Malley, according to Governing magazine. Chief speechwriter Steve Rabin and his team have been using only an iPad for eight months, for everything.

Whereas they once went through โ€œreams of paperโ€ while running speeches through many rounds of edits, โ€œNow I use a the stylus and do everything electronically,โ€ Rabin says. โ€œThis becomes not only a dollar saver, but I like to think itโ€™s a resource saver.โ€

Rabin has amazed himself: โ€œWhen something has been a habit for your entire professional life and academic life, and you break it within five months, I would say thatโ€™s a pretty big surprise.โ€
