Bloomberg interrupts ceremonial speech to ask, “Who Wrote this Shit?”

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg interrupted a punny introduction to a July 3 hotdog eating contest by saying, “Who wrote this shit?”

Some speechwriters expressed horror online, one saying, “This has to be the worst nightmare imaginable for any speechwriter.”

If you watch the video, you’ll see that the context is winky, and that no speechwriter was injured in the incident.

To answer his question, though, the person who wrote that shit was no doubt a scribe who has had his or her fill with ceremonial remarks.
