Writers have more fun

I sat for most of an afternoon in a beer garden last week, working.

The bartender kept offering me a second beer and I kept refusing.

Finally he asked me what I was doing.

Editing a manuscript, I told him.

Awhile later he brought me the check.

“Writers drink,” he said, scratching his head. “But I guess editors can’t drink.”

That’s the main difference between the two, I told him.
