Four empty seats only speechwriters can fill

UCLA, The World Bank, Planned Parenthood and the National Science Foundation among orgs seeking scribes

UCLA is looking for a ‪director of executive communications to be “responsible for speeches, presentations, op-ed pieces in local and national publications, videoscripts, and some of the Chancellor’s correspondence.”

The World Bank in Washington DC wants to hire a‪ ‪senior communications officer. “This individual will provide strategic communications guidance to the CEO and senior management, including messages, positioning, stakeholders and opportunities and risk scanning.”

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (in NYC) wants to hire a speechwriter to the president. “This individual will produce effective, lively, relevant, persuasive, and well-researched remarks in the speaker’s voice for a wide range of events and audiences.”

Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston is hiring a director of executive communications to be “responsible for developing and leading all internal communications for Vertex’s CEO. S/he will be responsible for planning, designing and delivering a strategic communications and engagement plan for the CEO in close collaboration with his Chief of Staff, Corporate Communications, Human Resources and Government Affairs colleagues. Will serve as communications advisor to the CEO and lead all employee-facing communications activities.”
