Where is exec comms going in your organization, exactly?

After the most tumultuous decade in the history of this burgeoning communication discipline, the next few years look as uncertain as the current political climate in the U.S. and around the world.

I bet it feels that way inside, too.

Itโ€™s the perfect moment to hunker down with a small group of your fellow executive communication pros, and take stockโ€”in a confidential meeting about real life in this difficult and dangerous, consequential and vital work.

And no better place for that gathering than inside the headquarters of Walmart, a company thatโ€™s been part of pretty much every economic, civic and cultural conversation over the last several decadesโ€”and surely over the next, as well.

Weโ€™ll begin with a deep dive into the evolution of Walmartโ€™s communications strategy, and the essential role executive communication plays. In facilitated group discussions, youโ€™ll share your best ideas, your toughest problems, your greatest hopes and fears with the only other people in the world who can help you get better: your fellow exec comms pros.

Along the way, weโ€™ll discuss the most vital issues in exec comms:

  • Exec comms in the age of โ€œinstitutional restraint.โ€ What should CEOs and other leaders be talking about nowโ€”and what should they be saying?
  • Proactive exec comms. Letโ€™s stop reeling from one urgent issue to the next and reacting to execsโ€™ communication whims. Letโ€™s think through a strategy, and lay out a plan that gets results.
  • Executive presence: Renowned executive communication coach Jeff Davenport will help everyone in the room work improve our ability to influence the leaders we serve, to get the trust and buy-in we need to do our work effectively.

Mostly, weโ€™ll talk about what you want to talk about, in a jam-packed agenda built around your most pressing problems and your hard-earned best practices.

And in this intimate setting among friendsโ€”over two days of intensive meetings, meals and drinksโ€”youโ€™ll have a chance to talk more candidlyโ€”and productivelyโ€”about your professional joys and agonies and hopes and dreams than you ever have before.

What you can expect at Leadership Communication Daysโ€”and afterward

You’ll gain more than ideas out of these two days. Youโ€™ll gain permanent friends, helpful colleagues and a professional safety netโ€”making a sometimes lonely and difficult business more meaningful and rewarding, both.

What Past Participants Say About Leadership Communication Days

Participants leave Leadership Communication Days refreshed, determined and relieved to know they are not aloneโ€”and with trusted new colleagues they will turn to again. After each meeting, weโ€™re showered with comments like these:

โ€œMy poor boss is about to discover that the only thing worse than when Iโ€™m overworked,โ€ said Airbus exec comms pro Jacqueline Martinez-De Rosso, โ€œis when Iโ€™m over-enthusiastic!โ€

โ€œThat much fun at a conference really shouldnโ€™t be legal.โ€ โ€”Josh Piven, Senior Writer to the Provost, University of Pennsylvania

โ€œLeadership Communication Days continues to be my favoriteโ€”and the most valuableโ€”conference I attend. โ€ฆ After eight of these conferences, I’m already looking forward to next year with great anticipation to see what it will bring.” โ€”Boe Workman, Director, CEO Communications, AARP
