Americans need lessons in followership

What else can you say about a nation that trusts a man to lead it through two wars, then spastically throws him out over a meaningless tryst? Great leaders don’t grow on trees, you know. Citizens have to cultivate the intellectual discipline to follow our leaders—wholeheartedly, and carefully. Or so I argue in The Atlantic Online.
