McKinsey & Company is hiring a global internal communications writer to work from either their San Francisco, Washington D.C., or New York office, focusing on writing and storytelling for an internal audience, including developing executive communications. The Global Internal Communications Writer will be responsible for upholding a high quality bar for all stories, keeping tight deadlines, and ensuring internal stakeholders and fellow team members perceive him/her as responsive, accountable, and considerate of their input. He/She must function effectively within a fast-paced, non-hierarchical professional services partnership. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and storyteller and will have a positive, can-do attitude, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the group. They are looking for someone with five or more years of professional writing experience, as well as a portfolio showing a broad range in tone and topic.

The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University is seeking a director of executive communications. This individual will directly support executive communications for the Kellogg Dean and other assigned senior administrative and faculty leaders. He/She will work closely with the directors of external and internal communications to develop and support relevant and effective executive and senior leader communications to an array of stakeholders, including but not limited to: thought leaders, the business community, alumni, faculty, students, and prospective students. This role will be responsible for planning, briefing, and preparing the Dean and senior leaders for internal and external speaking engagements, including crafting speeches and presentations. The ideal candidate will be a credible, experienced communications counselor with previous experience working for a C-Suite or executive leader.

The Hired Guns, the NYC creative talent agency, ‬is looking for a new ‪director of internal communications‪ to ‬“revolutionize” the way it communicates with employees and faculty. They’re looking for “a true writer/editor editor with the confidence and maturity to work with C-suite members drafting executive communications, organizational announcements, memos, newsletters, and presentations…” with a focus on “the health vertical”—medicine, science and pharma. The ideal candidate “must be cool as a cucumber when working under pressure.”

New York State Executive Chamber‬—the office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo—wants to hire ‪a speechwriter in NYC. They’re looking for “‬an accomplished wordsmith” … “who can absorb detailed government policy and inject it with prose and emotion.” This person will “draft speeches, talking points, scripts and other related materials; actively collaborate with policy makers and senior government officials; and conduct research to support and strengthen prepared remarks.”

Yeshiva University‬ in NYC i‪s hiring a communications associate, office of the president: a “‬gifted writer who will provide communications support for the president and senior executives.” This person will “divrei Torah, jokes, and stories; work closely with Executive Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff in managing the details of the President’s speaking opportunities at various meetings, events, and special appearances.”

UCLA in‬ ‪Los Angeles wants to hire a director, executive communications to “‬manage and strategize all forms of external communication from the Chancellor and senior executive leaders of UCLA. Communications” – including speeches, presentations, guest op-ed pieces in local and national publications, video scripts, and replies to certain types of correspondence with the Chancellor’s office.
