One candidate every speechwriter can get behind

After a lifetime of searching, I’ve finally found one political candidate that all speechwriters can get behind: January Makamba, former speechwriter to Tanzanian President Jakaya Kiwete, is now running for his old boss’s office, BusinessWeek reports. Kikwete terms out in 2015, and Makamba, 40, plans to campaign on an ambitious job-creation plan.

“The country needs a new generation of leaders and I represent that,” Makamba told BusinessWeek. “In deciding to run, I had to ask if I can do this job and the answer is yes.”
