China’s communist party passes law against “empty speeches”

By David Murray, Editor, Vital Speeches of the Day

China’s communist party has issued a ban on political pomp and circumstance, up to and including “empty speeches.”

Apparently in response to public criticism, the party bans rulers from attending “ribbon-cutting ceremonies, groundbreakings or any other self-aggrandizing events, exhibitions or forums,” according to London’s Telegraph.

Perhaps the Democrats and Republicans will follow suit?
